RTQblog is back baby! What? It’s only been two years…

Hello friends,

It has been a while since I have blogged and I have missed it.  Sunday night I leave for a two week trip to Scandavia with my best friend and partner in crime, Rachel King Baumann.  So, I will be blogging about those adventures here with pictures and video.  And trying to get the ball rolling again so I can keep blogging year round.

One of the things that had been holding me back from blogging was that I wanted to redesign the blog and switch formats and such.  Well, lucky for me, I met the media tech at the Lutheran Church across the street from Knox and he is an avid blogger.  He came over this week and we nerded out on our macs.  It was quite amazing!  Graham’s blog is www.geekfori.com and about Apple products.  Check it out.

In other news, I officiated my first wedding today, which was a really amazing experience.  I am getting towards the end of my lists of “first” as an ordained pastor, which is a good feeling.  I built a great relationship with the couple I married and it was a joy to do their wedding.  Also, I learned that this is the third wedding in three years for the bride’s side of the family and apparently the other two didn’t go so well.  At one wedding, the pastor preached about “meeting other girls at the bar” and forgot to say, “You may now kiss the bride.”  And in the other wedding, the Father was so old that he fell asleep during the service.  So, the bar wasn’t set too high for me.  With all of that aside, it was a beautiful service and I pray for a great marriage for Jay and Lauren.

I will write more when I’m in Scandinavia!

Somehow I just now read your entire first blog entry since 2009, and I am flattered that I am mentioned so prominently. Thanks! Dad put your blog on my favorites so I can check on it frequently.

I know you’ll have an interesting post on Stockholm up in a few days. We were glad to hear of your safe arrival. I can imagine you and Rachel having a fabulous time(especially with the temperature about seventy-five degrees there!) Love from Mom and Dad
